Join us on an adventure
Finding freedom on the open ocean
Why do we sail ? So many reasons.
The exhilaration of covering vast miles powered only by nature.
Being witness to cameos of the most incredible wildlife.
The starry nights and mystical sunrises that never fail to strike awe in all of us. But so much more than that.
I would like to introduce you to my world and immerse you in it's wild beauty. I wish to give you the tools to safely explore this world for yourself in your future life. To bring these home to share with your friends and family.
I lead offshore adventures to Madeira and The Azores, coastal vacations on The Algarve, driving clinics on catamarans in Croatia, high powered racing regattas in The Mediterranean, introductory sailing lessons on sports boats and old classic boats in Ireland and 'no shoes / no news' back to nature gentle cruises in the Balearic Islands of Spain.
Join me for a week or set a 3 year plan to visit the wonderful islands of the Med and Atlantic Ocean with me as your trusted skipper.
You may be starting out in sailing or maybe you are on a journey to a sailing career. Both are valued equally but I would ask you to bring a skill or a talent from your non-sailing life and share it with the crew. The most wonderful friendships develop at sea and for me this is a huge part of my sailing life.
Safety, competence, confidence and leadership are always present.
Each element put together allows you to attain that most wonderful of feelings ... Freedom on the open ocean.
To go where blue meets green
To find someone that you like, you ?
To talk with human hearts, not human faces
To trust exchanging eyes and hands
To feel giddy with happiness around the cockpit table
and intoxicated by city light at the end of the journey.

Explore the Portuguese Coast
Medusa is our Azzure 46.
Home Base: Casa Velha, Portugal.
'Minha casa e sua casa'
Join us on a 10 day sailing adventure on the beautiful sunshine coast of Portugal known as The Algarve.
The recipe is simple but there are quite a few ingredients involved to make this a wonderful experience.
Fly to Faro or Lisbon and make your way to the beautiful sleepy fishing village of Burgau, which we call home.
There we will relax after the flight and have freshly caught fish for supper.
Day 2 will be breakfast on board Medusa on her berth in Marina De Lagos and after a safety briefing we will sail up the coast for lunch and stop at anchor for dinner and stay overnight in a secluded cove.
For the next 5 days we will explore the Algarve coast and you will learn to be confident helming and crewing on a 15 metre racer / cruiser.
We will sail overnight perhaps into the Atlantic and up to Cascais, Lisbon or towards Gibraltar. Swimming, snorkelling and healthy eating by day and some evenings spent dining ashore in great company. The last night can be spent aboard in Lagos marina for a knees up or we can return to Burgau and stay in the cottage before travelling home.
Do you need to have sailing experience ? Not at all. All sailing levels are most welcome. Remember to bring your sense of adventure and a big slice of humour.
